Terms and conditions

The conditions that apply to every Biocrew booking, stated in plain terms without small print.

Rental conditions

To hire any vehicle from the Biocrew fleet, the renter must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driving licence for a minimum of 2 years. A valid passport or national ID is required alongside the licence, and a credit card must be presented in the renter's name for deposit authorisation at pickup.

The security deposit is not a fixed figure. It is set as a percentage of the vehicle's value, calculated at the time of booking once the specific car is confirmed. The same logic applies to insurance: basic cover is included on every booking, and premium cover is offered as an upgrade matched to the value of the vehicle reserved.

Daily rates run from €450 to €4,500, depending on the model booked. The rate quoted at confirmation reflects the specific vehicle, the dates requested and any delivery or chauffeur service added to the booking. No vehicle is held or guaranteed until the deposit authorisation is completed.

Questions about the terms

What happens if required documents are missing at pickup?

If the renter cannot present a valid passport or national ID, a driving licence held for at least 2 years, and a credit card for deposit authorisation, the booking is treated as void and the vehicle is not released. A new booking can be made once all documents are available, subject to the standard 24-hour lead time.

What happens if the vehicle is returned late?

A late return is treated as an additional rental day and charged at the same daily rate agreed for the original booking. If the delay affects the next scheduled booking for that vehicle, the renter is liable for any resulting costs.

Who is responsible for traffic fines or tolls incurred during the rental?

The renter is responsible for any fines, tolls or congestion charges incurred while the vehicle is in their possession. These are charged to the card on file once notified by the issuing authority.

What happens if the vehicle is damaged during the rental period?

Repair costs are deducted from the security deposit held on the renter's card. If the cost of repair exceeds the deposit amount, the balance is invoiced separately based on the repair quote obtained.

Can a confirmed booking be changed or cancelled?

Bookings can be rescheduled or cancelled without charge up to the start of the rental window, provided the 24-hour lead time has not already elapsed. Changes requested closer to pickup are subject to vehicle availability.

What law governs the rental agreement?

The rental agreement is governed by Spanish law and is concluded in Barcelona, where Biocrew operates and dispatches every vehicle.
